The Steps Of Obeying The Gospel

The way an individual is saved. 

2 Thessalonians 1:8, "In flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ."

2 Thessalonians 1:8 states that "those who do not obey the gospel" will be punished. The word gospel means good news, which is represented by the death, burial, and resurrection (1 Corinthians 15:1-5) of Jesus Christ. This is the way an individual is saved.

The Steps of Obeying the Gospel

1st Step: Hear--Romans 10:17, "So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ."

2nd Step: Believe--Hebrews 11:6, "And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him."

3rd Step: Repent--Luke 13:3, "I tell you, no, but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish."

4th Step: Confess--Acts 8:36-37, "The eunuch said... 'I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.'"

5th Step: Be Baptized--Mark 16:16, "He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved; but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned."
